960 sedan steering wheel column cover removal 900 1994

I have searched the forum for an answer to this question. I am trying to replace turn signal switch. I removed two "shallow" torx screws from the bottom cover. I turned 4 additional "recessed" torx screws. They did not come out, but I assume they are not supposed to come out. Now I am trying to release the bottom from the the top half of the cover. Is there any trick to releasing the two pieces?

Thanks in advance!

Those four screws do need to be removed, sometimes the tool you are using is tight in the hole of the housing and gives the sensation that your are loosening the screws. I wish I could remember what the size was, because you may be using the wrong size.
The can be somewhat of bear to install too.
