Speedometer cable 200 1980

So, my speedo cable broke. I'm trying to find a new one but having no luck. Everything listed is for a manual trans. I have an auto. Which one I'm not sure. Since it's an 80 it is supposed to be a 3 speed but it's not. It's a 3 speed with overdrive. I can't find an ID take or anything anywhere. It is a Borg Warner trans though as their name is stamped on the driver side neat the tail housing. My question is, will the cable from a manual trans even work? If not, where can I find an auto trans speedo cable?

Speedometer cable 200 1980

A few years ago my speedo cable broke. Rather than replace the whole assembly (sheath included), I picked up a universal replacement inner cable, cut it to length and crimped on the provided square drive end. (One side of cable already squared.)

Auto parts store, about $7.

Speedometer cable, PN 1234490... 200 1980

...based on RPR's catalog from early 90's.

Googling volvo 1234490 cable gets several hits.

This cable was listed for these auto tranny cars:

164s 73-75,
and
240s 75-85

Thank you! That's helped some. But, no luck actually finding one I can order. Was hoping to find one local. So, from your post 75-85 240's should all have the same cable if it's an auto trans? Is it different than a manual trans cable?

"Is it different than a manual trans cable?"

Yes the 4 speed Manual #for those years is is 1215548, the 4 spd w/OD is
1215546.

But I don't know how they differ, just what the RPR catalog says.
