Just in case you don't get a response based on experience (specifically with a Hall-effect sensor) I'll pass along this bit of advice given me before, which I did not use myself in reference to Scan Tech. You might be bolder than I am.
Here's that unheeded advice: "Buy both and examine them side by side. Judge for yourself and return the one you don't use."
That way you can report on the differences and save someone else this question. Don't be too concerned about being unable to "see" electrical part quality. It usually shows through in the finishing.
I suggest this, because I know you are an experienced and discriminating brick owner, and I doubt I've heard of anyone actually replacing a Hall-effect plate on a 240 distributor in at least 5 years. Lots of JY distributors being traded though.
To be a bit argumentative, I've not avoided "Scam Tech" for anything in the past 10 years, knowing they just buy stuff and stick it in blue bags. Nothing has bitten me yet, even though I hear so many disparaging remarks about their molded rubber parts along with packagers URO and MTC. The problem for me is, despite the fact I still maintain 8 bricks, some of them don't get a full physical as often as they ought to.
