Erratic horn works sometimes then doesn't... Replaced old horns with working JY ones, pulled horn pad off steering wheel all connections are good. I suspect bad ground but can't find it.. Any hints on location????

When you pulled the pad off did you clean the contacts for the horn? This should improve their performance.

No I didn't they looked clean but it's easy enough to recheck. Plus I guess I should check the red lead to see if I'm getting 12V to the horn pad..

The horn button grounds the horns to make them honk--the horns are wired "hot".--Dave
