Misc questions. Answer not found on site search 200 1985

1985 245dl

Probably pretty obvious to anyone but me. Help would be appreciated.

1. Had carpeting pulled back the other day. Couple of relays found under a metal casing screwed to the floor just lateral to the clutch pedal. What are these two relays for?

2. How do I remove the interior rear view mirror? I don't see any obvious set screw and I don't want to damage the mount. The mirror day/night mechanism has failed and I need to replace it.

One relay is for the front wiper and the other is for the rear wiper--at least on my 1979 245.

I can't promise it's correct for every year, but the picture here may help.

Relay identification 200 1985

(1) The very best way to identify relays is to include the color of the wires they have connected to them. That plus the location should help get the question answered.

1.) Sorry, I'm no help there.

2.) Grab a hold of the arm and yank, authoritatively, in down and rearward direction. It will pop loose from a sort of ball and socket attachment.
