i have an odd symptom in my 940. when i first start my car in the morning it runs rough, seems like a spark missfire. it starts right up , does not stall, but runs rough for about 30 seconds then runs fine. if i apply throttle it straightens out immediately and runs fine. everything operates properly for the rest of the for the rest of the day.

a check of info in the FAQS leads my to suspect the temp sensor. any ideas?

Maybe a problem with the cold-start injector. Have you got any more information?
What if you apply throttle when it's running rough? Does it stall?

no it does not stall. if i give it some throttle it will smooth out and run fine and the rough start syndrome disappears for the rest of the day. also it starts right up , no hesitation ,perfectly normal except for the missfiring. once it settles down after the first start it starts and runs normally. kinda weird!

My 240 (LH2.4) started doing this a few days ago. If it was the coolant temp sensor, the car should stall when you try to give it the gas (according to the faq). My suspicion is a fault with the cold start injector, but I have not yet had time to inspect it. Also wondering if the normal injectors are working correctly (may be leaking or putting out a really bad spray pattern).

Is your car Bosch or Regina? For some reason, I think my 1993 940 with Regina lacks a cold start injector, that the ECU simply tells the 4 main injectors to put out more gas on a cold start, rather than turning on a 5th injector. But i may be mis-remembering this.
