    search g80 on turbobricks. most of the swaps are done on electric speedo cars. i don't know how you can drive the mechanical speedo cable.

    I'm sure it CAN be done. Anything's possible with enough sweat, money, and time. You might ask on Turbobricks, where somebody can probably share a horror story or two about actually trying it.

    You'd need to weld on the ears for the 240 torque rods and trailing arms, since the 940 rear suspension is completely different. The panhard rod attachment may need to be modified as well, I think it's further outboard on the 240 than on the 940. Also, the track width of the 940 rear is about 9cm wider than the standard 240, which could cause body interference and alter the "predictability" factor of the handling.

        Well, I'm pretty sure the rear axles on any 240 1976-1993 will work on your 264. Since you're presumably running an earlier tranny with the speedo gear on the tailshaft, all the usual concerns about speed sensors on the diff are irrelevant. The sensor out back is just along for the ride.

          Thanks, I was thinking I could nab a 95 940 Turbo for $500 in the local Albuquerque, NM craigslist. Get the rear axle and the neat engine too on the cheap.
