Turbo cam on NA engine; any negatives? 900

I just purchased a 92 945 with 187K. It is the normally aspirated b230. I need a quick head replacement as the original has suffered heavily from electrolsis.

I have a very nice head on the shelf that I pulled out of an 87 744 that had the b230ft. If it should check out to be plane and I install it on the b230 what effects will it have on its driveability? It is my quickest and easiest fix. I do not want to have the original welded and milled at this time.

Thanks for any input.

Randy

"Electrolysis"? Now, I have had it happen to an outdrive on the boat in the ocean, and people pull hairs out using it, but how does "electrolysis" affect a 940 head?

The n/a engine probably won't like the cam.
Check on the turbobricks site, they usually discuss those scenarios.
Better to swap cams if the bearing surfaces are OK.
Between the 2 heads, you may have enough shims to get the valve clearance right for the followers.
You can R&R the bumpers & valve seals as well since they will come with your head gasket kit.
Just be sure to set the valve clearances BEFORE you install the bumpers.
