Tail light vainness beware 200

Ok Brick perfectionists... If you know about the 1992 model you know it is the "black out" model (no stainless steel trimmings except for the bumpers)
Well I got me some very nice tail lights from a non-1992 which means I have the chrome stripe bisecting the top and bottom halves.
HOW DO I REMOVE?
Tim

    Tail light vainness beware 200

Tim, I recently went through this same ordeal. In the end, I decided not to use the chrome-trim light, but my thoughts at the time were that the chrome strip should be removable. In fact, I'm sure it IS removable, but I don't think you could do so without damaging the lenses.

I would stick with paint. Go get some black epoxy paint (for appliances) or maybe some black trim paint. Scuff the chrome strip with 220 grit sandpaper, tape off the lenses, and spray. You might want to prime, as well. If you use grey or black automotive primer, you should be able to get by with a regular satin black paint like Krylon Fusion.
