Brake Pads Made in India? 200

I buy OEM most of the time but I think this time was a true waste of money.
Should I be disappointed that the brake pads I bought from Volvo in the blue box were made in India?

    Why? 200

It matters not where a product is made, what is important is the specification (quality). It's conceivable that I could make top quality parts in my garage as long as I meet the specifications laid out for me. Specs would not be decided by me or some plant in India.

Not really: it's labor intensive and I suspect the Indians, using decent materials, will do a decent job. Volvo does maintain good quality control on its OEM parts so the blue box is an indicator of quality.

Well, as a red-blooded American, no one can be more proud of a product that is "made in U.S.A." but I am trying to remember when I last saw that. Volvo, of course, is now owned by a Chinese company and I am waiting to see what that means. I mean, made in USA doesn't automatically mean good quality but usually it does. If they still made a Swedish 240 I would order one tomorrow at full MSRP but they don't, so I won't. I agree that OEM from Volvo is a good bet for quality but I am old-fashioned and long for the good old days and , truth be known, I love and cling to my 240 for that and a 'couple other reasons.
