Fuel Pump 120-130

Hello everyone, Today I was taking my Sunday drive to get the cobwebs off the hood and the car died. I was able to trace it down to no fuel pressure so I guessed the fuel pump was bad. I was able to take the top off on the side of the road and I saw the larger check valve came loose from the hole and it fell out. I was able to tap it in using a screwdriver and start the car with full fuel pressure. My question is, Do I still need to get a new fuel pump or somehow repair that valve from coming lose again? Thanks

You should always have a spare fuel pump on hand. Pierburg brand is OEM and reliable.
Also puts out the right pressure. Your results with other brands may vary.
Be sure and have the spacer and gaskets also. They are necessary.

I can't argue with that. I've a spare one in the car but it's the one I took of when I thought I was having problems. Swapped it with another used but unknown one off a spare engine but the fault turned out to be a faulty pipe.
On some pumps the valves are swaged in which can be a bit hit and miss, literally. You can try and re do yours. Hold the pump solidly in the vice, reseat the valve and redo the swages with a small flat punch. Usually 2, maybe 3 of them. Add another couple if they are damaged but be careful. A small tap is all that's needed, it's only alloy and a heavy hit likely to distort the valve.
