clock working, speedometer,fuel, temp not working, i was trying to install tach in place of clock, when i plugged in the small clock harness that was not connected to the clock yet the leads made contact, after that the speedometer, fuel, temp stop working. i put the big clock back in and that works fine, when i start the car the overdrive light comes on i can turn it off

Make sure you put the L-shaped connector back where it goes, on the speedometer gauge. That carries the power for all you mention that is not working.

I burned out a speedo/odometer once connecting a wire to one of two prongs sticking out near the top of the cluster between the speedo and temp/fuel gauges. Hard to believe you could blow all those out with just one touch and with the ignition off. Is there a wire not hooked up? The small clock has that plastic covering its contacts so it would make it hard to have an accidental contact but not saying it couldn't happen.
