Heater box paint opinion 120-130 1967

I am in the process of grinding off the paint and rust on my heater box. I have just 2 questions:

1: Should I use gloss black, or is that too much for the engine bay? The car paint is white.

2: As I ground off the paint on the heater motor cover, I found A B Electrolux, Sweden. I would like to keep that showing. Would it be too anal to polish the cover and paint it with a clear coat to keep off the rust? Or should I just paint it black to match the box cover?

This is perfect weather to spend in the garage,

The original color is gloss black, but do whatever pleases your eye.

I like gloss because it stays clean longer. It is just sooooo big in the engine bay, it makes the 1800 look small.

I used semigloss black, and to help show the name, not too thick where the name appears.
After the black is good and dry, rub a couple drops of white paint over the letters
and wipe the excess off with a cloth damp with thinner.
This should make the letters show up well.
"Nothing sucks like Electrolux!"

Appears to be made of thick, stamped aluminum. Nicely polished, I think I will clear coat it to keep any salt off.

Probably right about semi-gloss black for the heater box.

I powdercoated the heater bos in my 1800 a semi-gloss, or satin, black. It looks very good. The gloss black has too much shine.
