How much is 1993 Classic 240 worth? 200 1993

I have too many cars (three Volvos) now with the kids out of the house and am thinking of selling our 1993 240 Classic sedan (numbered edition) so someone else can enjoy it for a long time. I am the second owner with all receipts, including previous owner receipts since the time it was purchased. Previous owner took it to the dealer for all service, including oil changes per the book.

Car was bought and always lived in So Cal. Everything original, including Classic wheels. Green paint is beautiful because always garaged, waxed, and covered. Interior is great condition, no tears in upholstory. 159,000 miles on the odometer. Only thing it needs right now is the AC clutch. The AC worked up until a couple of months ago and I haven't gotten around to fixing it.

Toss it up on eBay. Clean it really well, take a bunch of really good pics, and there is a crowd on eBay that is willing to pay good money for really nice 240's. Generally speaking, the fetish effect fades as the miles go over 100K.

A few years ago a ~90K mile Classic sedan in exceptionally clean condition sold there for $9000-ish. And more recently, $16K for a time capsule 18K mile plain jane '90 244 DL.

They're only worth more than any other 240 to a collector or Volvo enthusiast (like us). I've seen them on Craigslist for about $500 or $1000 more than your average 240, but only because they are usually newer and have fewer miles than most other 240s. Alloy wheels, power everything, metallic paint, ABS, etc. Definitely one of the most desirable 240s, but your average joe might not know that, or care.

Find Blue Book on a '93 and add $500 - $1000 for the Classic "package" and you should have a good real-world selling price.

If I was a rich man, I'd pay premium for a Classic, but I am not; and my '93 is actually newer than any Classic (according to the chassis number), so I think I'll keep it.

Good luck!
