Today the picture change a bit: I stopped by their shop to see what he had in mind. He, "was," busy, and said he hadn't made up his mind on selling it cheap or fixing it and selling it. They rarely fix anything, "foreign." I think he was too busy to bother discussing it because there is no potential money in it for them no matter what.
Most importantly, this fellow, (the owner), said it did NOT run. I just told him I check some time in the future; they know how to find me.
Next thing if it comes to this, is to get the key unlock it, and turn it over with the valve cover off. Having someone else watch to see if the cam moves. If she broke a timing belt, I'll know. On the outside it's a pretty car; only detraction is the living-in-warm-weather fogged plastic headlight covers.
The way I see it, it might be worth a couple hundred bucks for parts. And, if I'm lucky, a quick fix for a short term driver.
