Monroe is now OEM 700 1989

Since my wife wanted the softest ride, I decided to get the actual Volvo hydraulic struts from Tasca Volvo since they were cheaper than the Sachs from online stores. The last Sachs Advantage ones I used didn't seem to make a great difference.

I was curious if they would be Boges or Sachs. They arrived today in the blue genuine Volvo boxes - made in Spain. They are stamped with the Volvo logo, but are also stamped "MONROE" .

Hopefully, Monroe is making them to a high standard for Volvo than their aftermarket stuff.

I recently ordered front and rear shocks for my 1990 740 from the dealer (sme price as aftermarket + shipping to Newfoundland). I too was surprised to see Monroe stamped on the front ones. Given their reputation, like you I hope they are built to Volvo standards. Wonder why Volvo switched?

Cool beans! I've got kyb gas-a-just shocks in the rear shocks of my 740T and I love them. I'll put them in all my cars now. I also put them in a ford ranger before we sold it. They're great.

Happy Bricking and thanks for the info.
