960 wheels OK on 240 but center caps do not fit 200 1993

This weekend I insalled "turbine vane" wheels from a 93' 960 wagon (15", 6" wide with 195/65/15 tires) on my 93' 240 (14", 5.5 wide with 195/65/14 tires). 960 wheels with tires fit fine and look fine, but the issue is that the stock 960 center caps do not clear the wheel bearing hub grease covers of the front wheels.

Any help would be appreciated in finding center caps that fit. I don't mind if the caps only cover the hub (I like the lug nuts exposed as they and the studs are shiney new).

I tried newer model 2.5" wide black center caps (many newer Volvos have these, incl 850 models), but there is not enough clearance for the hubs so they don't work; they are not deep enough for the locking tabs to reach the wheel). I'm looking for guidance on finding center caps that are deeper.

Regards,
Schwaco

I believe the wheels your refering to are called Aires. I have a set on a 240 and have the same problem. Someone was telling me that you can modifiy the grease cap with a hammer enough to allow them to fit. Under the cap the threaded portion and bolt don't spin and the area is a grease reservior to prevent pressure build up, right? I have fit the caps as is even though the don't snap on and haven't lost one yet.

Also, the center caps like found on the 850 won't fit, as you found the tabs are not long enough. If you really want to use them Goop them in place.
The Nova rims are what you call the Turbine wheels, an 11 spoke swept design. They use the center caps that are ~8" diameter with a 1" deep locating tabs that engage the hub, and will fit fine if you do the above mod.

Yes, a hammer taken to the grease cap will work fine. Bang on it until you dent the outer edges all the way around about 1/4". I ran 960 'Nova' wheels for years on a 245 this way.

OR, get a set of beveled caps from a 700/900 and replace the domed caps on your 240.
