Turbo airbox thermostat 200 1984

Anyone know if the turbo thermostat is the same as regular 240s? It looks the same but I can't find it listed anywhere.

    Turbo airbox thermostat 200 1984

RPR's catalog shows 1266826 being used 79-93 on 240 and 85-92 on 700 Turbo. My parts fiche is not revealing a separate listing for the t-stat in the turbo airbox, as it does for the NA cars. This is interesting, because I have replaced the foil hot air pipe on an intercooled 83 242T, but don't recall encountering the thermostatic valve. Like Kyle says, that compressed air will be hot enough without adding to it with the typically tapped-out t-stat.

Turbo airbox thermostat and Thank you Art 200 1984

It's there under the airbox. You can get at it from the inside with the filter out. Like Na 240s the flap fails in the hot position. So mine is hot all the time. As you say, with Kjet and the turbo it would not be a big deal if you were not trying to make maximum horsepower. But this car has been converted to LH 2.4 so I need to worry about cooking the AMM.

I suppose I could take the flap out and block off the hotside port.

I also meant to thank you Art. You were right on with your diagnosis of the 113 code awhile back. My AMM was the culprit. I would have tried one right away but I didn't have one. My parts source is about an hour away and I finally got there last week.
They also were quite sure that it was not the AMM, and thought it was a ground problem. After redoing the grounds they then thought it was the ECU. I finally talked them into putting in another Amm and the car went back to running perfect.

    Hello,

The turbocharger increases the charge air and intake temperature quite rapidly, even in low ambient temperatures.

    Just an FYI.
