V8 Ford into 68 122 2 door y Quatro 120-130

Well..... it's been 9 months since I updated anything about this project. I had been taking pics all along and dumping them in a folder waiting for something to actually get finished. Nothing is really finished, but things are in place to be finished. I can warn you this is a long story, both albums have about 100 pics in them.

So? What's left? The back half of the car needs to be "sculpted", shouldn't be that bad. I need to go have the driveshaft made up. I need seats. I need to make sure the rear end is in square. A lot of wireing. A lot of new part buying. But it's getting close! I still can't believe it's been 2 years, but then again, I can't believe I got up out of bed one more day.

Maybe the next update will have it running, really depend on how I feel. The pulley is being machined right now, so I will be able to bolt in the radiator, alternator in, once and for all. That will let me bolt up the front panel and fenders, adjust the latches and pretty much be done in the front for a bit. I may have to have a friend paint it for me, I am really having trouble holding my arms up. I couldn't lift a jug of milk out of the cart the other day. It's really not that far from paint work. 2 years ago I would have bet confidently that this would be cruising the car shows by now, I would have lost big! Anyway, it's getting there! All links will open in a new window/tab.

I don't know if anyone here is interested in this, but a guy around the corner had all his cars out for a Studebaker club meeting. We walked over and took some pics. I think he said there were 17 of them. We didn't make it back over when the stude guys showed up. It was rough conditions to take pics, super bright day and tall trees! It's still in the 90's here.
    One guy car show!
He took my kid on a ride in a T, he was blown away. He said that car is almost 100 years old!
A few seconds of Model T

I'm working on wireing, it's a nightmare. I have most of the circuits mapped out. I had to order a ballast wire, I couldn't find one I'm sure I have. The neutral safety switch was bad too, had to get one of those too. But, it could actually start with a key soon if I wanted it to!

Again, because I would figure a lot of you guys can appreciate machines, I went to the Ag show in Ga, it was totally overwhelming. I didn't even make it out to dairy and meat! Be sure to watch the movie on the cedar page!

      Pics of course!

I was at the NHRA unleashed this weekend.
If anyone is bored! This is just an obscene display of tossing money at stuff for no real reason. There was a volvo there, but didn't get it running. So, if you are floundering on getting that IPD sway bar, remember these people (sportsmen) that just blew up a $25,000 motor.

The swap meet in Moultrie is coming up. Don't know if we will make it to that one. And of course the Turkey Rod Run is in Daytona the Thanksgiving weekend.

Thanks! I have to rest a lot. I take lyrica twice a day and one of the side effects is hand swelling. (on top of the arthritis) Once I get some more of the body done, I can let the kid do the rest of the sanding! Oh, and while I'm here. I was over at my friends machining off the pulley scrap and I snapped a shot of his 1800!

You should put this post in the V8 conversion section. Reading about a V8 122 just makes me sad & a little sick in the stomach.

If you were fitting a Clevor with CHI heads, I might be excited about it, but your typical 302 Windsor doesn't actually make any more power than a half decent B20! Why couldn't you have stuck a V8 into a 240, they were actually designed to have one.
