front speaker came loose 200 1993

Only one of four pop rivets? are still holding the front factory speaker in the door. It's a 1993 240 sedan.

Any suggestions for how to fix? I have never installed speakers so don't have a clue where to start.
Thanks,
Alan

Did the door material tear, or did the rivets come apart?

You could get new rivets or get door panel clips that allow you to use screws. If you buy new speakers they usually come with these, but you should be able to get these clips from any store that sells car sterios.
Be careful with the door panel, they crumble very easily around the edge

You can get a 4 inch speaker and replace the entire unit. Those come with clips and new screws that fit right where the factory speaker was installed. I have Kenwoods in the front door of my 86 model and they sound really good.

You can mix some JB Weld and glue the bracket to the door cover. That would be sort of permanent however if you change your mind and want to replace the speaker later.

Regards,

Paul
