122 front door window seals and channels 120-130

Hi,

I am sorry if this has been covered before. I have used the search function, but frankly, find the entire format of this forum archaic. If there is a guide to get me up to speed of how this site works, please link me to it.

Anyway, My 67 122 2dr needs every rubber part associated with the roll-up door window system replaced. Guide channels, outer and inner wipers, inner door frame window seals. All of mine are rotten and have become a problem.

Does any manufacturer supply these?

Thanks,
Justin

For searches, use the search window on the right side of any index page. That keeps you in the section.

I just replaced all 4 door window surrounds, one day for each - no hurry. The hardest part is getting the clip off the door handle and window crank. There are a few phillips screws, LOL, that hold everything together. The vent window must come out first and go back last. Get new rubber for that also, plus a few rivits.

I used generic rivits and gun, but some of the heads had to be lightly filed down for clearance.

All of the parts I got were about 1/2 inch too long. Measure 2 or 3 times before you cut any channels. I used a grind wheel to get the rough edges off.

Klaus

www.vp-autoparts.com is a good sourch for parts for 122's they have a warehouse in South carolina U.S. on the website you can download a PDF of all they sell and there is US phone number to call.I don't order on-line as the site defaults to shipping from Sweden when you do. Also, in the PDF they list prices in Swedish Kronas,so be reday to convert or just ask when you call.

I purchased my window channels thru web site "swedish treasures". I started out just buying a few pieces that I needed then ended up having to purchase the whole bundled package. Your better off just buying the whole bundle and its not too bad of a price. sounds like you may need everything anyhow. It makes a big difference when you get everything in, no more rattles.

I have a 67 2 door as well and went through that whole procedure.. Very time consuming!! I got all my parts from VP Autoparts.. If you go to their web page you will see diagrams etc, of the doors.. I ordered my stuff from a guy called Olaf here on the West coast.. He lives near Vancouver Canada near the US border so he must walk across the border and mails from the US or Canada..I think his US address is Pt. Roberts, Wash. Anyway,,he is very good !!

Olof and VP-Autoparts are two different outfits but both are good.
VP-Autoparts is in North Charleston, SC.

I was under the impression that Olaf sells for VP.. When I order from Olaf I just use the VP parts list..

Olof Malmberg's company is Vintage Import Parts, po Box 1517, Point Roberts, WA 98281-1517.
He and VP-Autoparts (which I have visited in Sweden) both use Volvo part numbers.
VP's US office is in North Charleston, SC, operated by Christer Johanson. Nice guy.
They started out making windshield seals for the 444 and grew from there.
Another company of interest is Genuine Classic Parts (GCP.se) which I have also visited in Sweden.
A MOST interesting outfit - the cleanest salvage yard I have ever seen and custodian of
all of Volvo's outdated parts as well as recycling parts from all of Volvo's vehicles used in
testing, which cannot legally be sold as complete vehicles. They also use Volvo part numbers.

Wow, Thanks a lot, guys. I thought that IPD was the only supplier of parts around, but your replies have opened my eyes.
