Does anyone know where I can get the fuel hose, for a 1990 Rex/Regina 745 GL, that runs from the big fuel filter (under the frame) to the fuel rail? I've just checked at Tasca Volvo's web site, and at FCP, no dice.
This hose has a banjo fitting at the filter end and some kind of a threaded fitting (18mm wrench) at the fuel rail end.
Or does one get these things made by the local, helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly auto parts store? [/sarcasm]

Hi Scott,
I replaced that line 2 years ago for a rust pin hole on the banjo fitting. I just checked Tasca and it doesn't say "discontinued" for PN 1342033. $88± for about 7 feet of hose with a flare fitting on one end and a banjo on the other seems pretty steep even for Volvo, but that's what it is.
Item Number MSRP Core Price Price
1342033 $116.45 $0.00 $87.04

Ouch! You're right, that is a lot for a 7' hose with a couple of fittings.
The problem here is that with both cars down, I am paying for a rental. Can't keep the car off the road and wait for Tasca to get it to me, and don't want to pay overnight shipping charges (probably 50% or more of the price). Since it hasn't come loose so far, will just order from Tasca on Monday and hope the old one makes it until the replacement arrives.
Thanks for the part number. I was looking by their parts menu and couldn't find it that way.

Could you put a couple of hose clamps on it and maybe pinch the split shut -- or at least slow the leak. That may be where a lot of your fuel pressure is going.
EDIT: In fact, you might want to hold off on the tank pump reseat until you can at least moderate the pressure lost at that fuel feed line. I can see where that might be most if not all of the problem.
The pic below shows a used banjo (with a short line section) spliced to my feed line after the original banjo sprung a rust leak. The "coupling" is a short length of 5/16" pipe with each hose end double-clamped. It held fine while I waited for the real deal.

There doesn't seem to be any leakage from the splitting and fraying hose on the filter, which strikes me as odd given how bad it looks.
Thanks for the photo - I had been wondering about doing just that - clamping it temporarily.
This afternoon, based on your and Ray's advice in the other thread, I pulled the sender/pump unit out and, using a photo of the Regina sender/pump unit from FCPGroton, put mine back together properly. It works perfectly now.

Then it's probably not the "hose" you see but the external rubber protective sleeve that covers the 5/16" black plastic line. I wouldn't worry about it. Just wrap it with tape for appearances sake.
Glad to hear the pump is working well now.

Again, you are right Bruce. On close inspection it is the rubber sheath. But you can see a little of the plastic fuel line. I'll work up a good cover for it and clamp it in place. Thanks for the tip that just saved me a small fortune for the hose assembly.
