Installing a new(ish) 740 stereo in a 240? 200

I came across a low-cost TD 6141 cassette stereo from a '91 740 and I would like to install it in a 1984 240 dl. I consider myself fairly savvy with radio installs but I cannot figure out the td 6141. Here's what I see at the back of the unit: 1 14 pin connector with a red (possibly orange) wire, 1 black (possibly grey) wire, 1 solid yellow wire, 1 solid green wire, 1 green/orange striped wire, 1 yellow/black striped wire that is conjoined with another black wire. The black wire of this pair is attached to a small black module that is attached to the back of the unit by a screw. In addition there are two black pin female receptors a 7 pin as well as an oddly configured 6 pin. The wires in my 240 are all still clearly labeled so I really just need to what the wires are coming out of the back of the td 6141. Thanks.

I have a good 240 unit from my 1985 245 GL that I'll let you have. It should be a plug and play setup for you. I also have a modern Sony with the upper mount and XM that is listed in the for sale section.

The earlier volvo headunits used an external amp with the signal going from the tunerheadunit to the external amp and then returning to the tuner. The speaker leads then were fed from the tuner/headunit. On later models, (it changed around 90 or 91 I think, depending on the model) the external amps was still used, but the speakers were fed directly from the amp. I sounds like you probably have one of the later headunit/tuners, so you would need to get the external amp that goes with it ( it attaches to tone of those "round" connectors on the back), and then wire your speakers to it.
