960 rattles driving me nuts, any typical culprits? 900 1997

I've been replacing the worn suspension components, will have a front-end alignment done soon, new rubber needed all around and an exhaust system probably in the next year. this is going to add up, but I'm willing to spend some cash. the real disappointing part is that when driving, the rattles make me depressed. after all that work, to have a rattling car... argh!

    I agree with Sredwine, the two biggest rattlers/noise makers on these cars are the stabilizer bar links and the front lower control arms rear bushings. Upper strut mounts are another possibility with high miles.

    Replacing the lower control arm rear bushings and the sway (or stabilizer) bar links quieted ours right down.
