I need to change out the thermostat and just in case there is a problem I have a new housing to install and plan to use penetrating oil to prevent bolts from snapping. Just in case what would be the appropriate bolt size to keep on hand in case one snaps? low strength but metric, I would think. 1987 245 dl 5 speed.

    I think they use studs and nuts. Bolts might bottom out in a blind hole.

    As I remember their 6mm dia. A 10mm hex socket fits the nut. Take one of those to match up the thread.

      The studs are 6mm x 1.0 thread pitch. Use a 6 point 10mm socket, and use plenty of pb blaster
