running rich and check engine light - where to go from here? 200

I got codes 2-2-1, 1-1-3, 2-3-1 and I think I need to look at the o2 sensor and/or AMM.

two questions - When checking the o2 sensor, do I measure resistance on the green wire or the 2-pin connector?

When checking AMM, I should find zero ohms at pin 1 (indicating good ground).
WHen checking voltage, where should I be?

car runs pretty well, all things considered - definitely rich but plugs show carbon, but nothing overly sooty.

thanks.

I agree with Dave below, but will add that the engine should be warmed up when reading the sensor voltage (not resistance).

But I'd look for those flashing numbers to be trying to cycle around 0.5v. Mostly between 0.3v and 0.7v with the occasional 0.2v and 0.8v. In your case (rich running) probably more on the high side and fewer lows, if any.

I can tell you, as far as the O2 sensor goes---you will read voltage from the sensor at the green wire connection on your digital multi-meter with the engine running. It will change constantly--going from about half a volt up to about one volt showing that it is working properly--reacting to mixture changes as the computer gets input from the sensor. -- Dave

Thevery first thing I'd check... How is your Fuel Regulator? Is it leaking gas out of the Front hose?

I never buzzed out an O2 sensor or AMM...sorry.

original FPR was replaced about 5 years ago after the car would stall at 60mph on the highway...

Talked with my old hometown volvo specialist and he firmly believes a recently replaced FPR would not be bad - I pulled the vacuum off the front recently and it pulls good vacuum - no fuel etc.

Anything else I can do to check the FPR?

As far as Rich running.. If the Diaghram in the Regulator is not torn then gas will not be leaking through that vacuum hose and into the Manifold.
If the engine is running strong and you do not have gas or bad gas smell in that forward hose... I would look somewhere else.
