the mysterious and evil oil leak 200 1985

So far, on my 85 245 with a B230, I've changed or repaired/cleaned:

The flame trap
the breather box
new oil filler gasket
new front seals
new rear main seal (which appeared bone dry when I was under the car 2 days ago)
new oil pan gasket

And after all that, I thought maybe, just maybe...my leaking would stop.

But my OD is leaking (I probably have to re-tighten parts of it)...

and oil is dripping off of the oil pan bolt still. I realize some of it might be residual oil from changing things around, but man...what in the heck?

I'm sick of laying under my car! Help!

I would look at the valve cover gasket, it usually leaks at the back where the little half moon rubber peace is. If all the things you have already done don't leak then I would look there. Good Luck, Charlie

probably won't hurt to do that one too.

Thanks!
