I turned my old 740 over to my mother-in-law in Miami. I replaced the condensor (watch out- there was a little plastic air intake on one side of it that wore a hole in the condensor just through vibration ) the compressor and the evaporator (which was fine and didn't need it) . The system works but will not shut off ever. Anyone know about this? Thanks. The mother -in-law is actually complaining about how cold it gets in the car in Miami in July.

i know if you short the low pressure switch it will cause the Compressor to kick on, maybe you have a short in the low pressure switch or wireing causing the compressor to continually run.

Is the ventilation control knob set to defrost? It'll run permanently in that setting, it overrides all else.

Thank you very much for your response. She says that its not set to defrost and that it will crank out full bore a/c regardless of what it is set on. Is there a failed a/c relay in there somewhere?
