Replacing the heater control label 120-130 1966

Greetings all,

I was wondering what's involved in replacing the piece of plastic that goes around the 3 knobs on the heater controls.

The one on my car is cracked and part of it has broken off.

Any tips?

Thanks!

The way I have done it is to pull the whole unit out of the dash (don't have to disconnect the cables from the heater valve, flaps in the box) by the couple of screws hold it in the dash. The knobs don't come off the levers so you have to spread the 'strips' of the over lay. They will not spread side to side but you can flex them front to back. Thus you flex the middle area back and the side forward. It helps if the knobs are not all lined up. You can then slip the overlayment over the knobs. This will make sense when you start to play with it...
