the metal line probably isn't the problem. check the rubber sections. one inside the engine bay on driver's side strut tower, the other on top of the fuel gauge sender.

I imagine it is similiar to my 90 740. It runs along the drivers side lower left. The return line runs parallel with the vent line for much of the way. If it is leaking shouldn't there be a wet spot? The points were the line bends are most prone to leaking.

Just trace it visually: Either from the engine bay or the fuel tank.

The fuel lines run under the car near or in the transmission tunnel with the brake lines.

I need to look at this myself, as one of the connections at the fuel tank is all screwed up.

It would be to your advantage to stay with the original post on a continuing problem rather than starting a new thread with each new component of a problem.

People can not see what others have contributed to a possible solution if you start a new thread each time.

if memory serves, it runs right along side of the fuel line on the drivers side line. But if you can't see it dripping, how do you know it's leaking?
