My new wagon 120-130

I couldn't pass a wagon up, again.
I believe it's a 67, but WA says it's a 68.
It has overdrive! retro-fitted

My new wagon 120-130

Just as I was leaving for a mission to Africa, my youngest calls me from Billings, MT (I am in eastern South Dakota), "Dad, there is this really cool Volvo station wagon for sale, do you want me to go look at it to see if we (read you) want to buy it?" "Do you know what model it is," I say, while beginning to hyperventilate. "The guy said something about Amazon or whatever," my rather wonderful son says. While eyes are twirling and head is spinning, I reply, "Sure, go and look at it, but really look for rust!!" About two hours later..."Hey Dad, there is no rust in this car!!" "Are you really certain?" I reply with some skeptisism. "No, really Dad," my intelligent, fantastic son says, "no rust at all!!" So, just as I am about to leave, we (read me) are now the proud owner of a rust-free, cream colored, 1968 Amazon wagon, which my grandson (who is one year old) loves to drive in my son's driveway. (Wish I could quickly figure out how to add a picture). Now I can't wait to get home to see this vision of Swedish pulcritud-ness. I just have to keep in mind that the '68 1800S up on jack stands comes first...

Less than 1K more than 500.

The guy you bought it from was robbed :)

It looks to be in great shape. My 67 220 has had the booster removed, but the brakes still work good with minimal leg force.

I love the color,

Klaus

That picture is of it's best side.
It still has it's 40 year old car issues, but it was a good price. I just can't pass up a good deal.

So this car must have had a booster too. The brakes still work well without it.

It's a good red. I don't like most reds.

Sam

I'm in love... it's red.

does it have dual circuit brakes? I've seen a few recently that are in between '67 and '68... having dual circuit brakes, flashers, but no knee pad on the dash, no side reflectors.. etc.

In any event...

Nice!!!

Love red

Thanks. I like the red too. I think it was originally white, but some time ago in it's life it was taken apart and painted red. Probably looked great when it was originally done.

It looks like it used to have the extra brake stuff because there are mounting holes for it on the inner fender. Now it just has the older style master cylinder.

It must have been an in betweener. ???????????

That is for a booster, and some 66 models had that.
Dual circuit brakes would have a dual master cylinder.

Wow less than $1K for the most practical classic in the world! With the OD them old 220 are a sweet ride, can haul stuff as well. I use mine for work in the summer, few hundred pounds of tools in the back, doesn't even notice it.

No doubt. You can never go wrong with a wagon.
Especially a Volvo wagon.

Congratulations! Count me as jealous as I would love to have a 122 wagon as a daily driver. However they are few and far between in the southeast as are most pre 240 Volvos.

Yah, but you still have your sweet 544.
