clutch fork spring (?) 200 1985

Since I can't put in the rear main seal, I've decided to try to put together the tranny a bit more.

So now I'm trying to put the clutch fork back on, but I can't remember where the spring goes. NOT the one that connects to the clutch cable.

It's the U shaped wire that I guess acts as tension?

What part does the wire/spring go into? I assumed the open ended part (the legs) go into the rectangular notch at the fatter end of the fork, and then on/in/around the round bolt that is on the housing?

Is it the spring that goes around the Pivot Ball On the Bellhousing with the ends going through the slot on the fork?

Yes. I did a little brainstorming, and have hypothesized that it could only go one way. With the looped end in the arm, and the "feet" (or legs) in the end, and then it connects (or clamps around) the pivot ball.

Does that make sense? Because it slipped into place like it was meant to be that way.

I think you got it. But if I remember correctly, it wont snap over the Ball on the Bellhousing, you have to put it over the Ball then out the foot through the slot in the Fork.
