ignition advance - Mega spark?? 140-160

Modded B20 with singular knock low end 3rd and 4th, dual hsr's 10.4CR

some of you have followed my problems...could be lean condition, could be bastard cam...could be lot's of things.

doesn't idle too well below 15 BTDC. unfortunately have 123Ign dizzy cuz that's what i bought two yrs ago.

What about installing Megasquirt just to run advance curve??

Comments?

When in doubt (which I was recently because I soldered the plates together on my vacuum retard unit) I always set my total advance to 36 degrees at 3500 rpms and then leave the initial advance where it is. I know you have a fancy dizzy that has adjustable everything but this gets me on the boards every time to get my carbs sorted out.

Use one of the B20E curves in the ignition & set it to 10°BTDC at idle then sort your carburettors out.

Don't you have a choice of several curves on the 123?
And with 10.4:1 CR you should NOT be lugging in 3rd and 4th -- that is why you have first and second!
You could certainly retard it a bit and then set the idle faster to compensate.
