3rd row seats-- seatbelts HELP! Mid-Project Saturday AM! 1999

Hi guys.

I picked up a 3rd row seat kit from erie vo-vo-- great condition, came in 2 days. I'm at the seatbelt stage of the install-- but I can't seem to loosen the belts from the spool. They came all wound up in a neat package, and try as I may, I cannot pull out any slack.

The mechanism looks simple enough- but gentle or rough I can't get any slack. At first I thought they were position-sensitive, so I mounted them (can't go wrong with the pin setup) but no use-- no slack.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has been in this position, or has any advice!

    While changing seats last week in a 740 I went through a similar situation with a seat belt,it tried my patience for about 30 min. I think,but cannot say for sure that they are in fact position sensitive,I only found one position that I could move the task forward at all and that was with several steps backward along the way,the more slack that you expose the easier it becomes.I did not search for seat belt release tips.My best tip is patience,hopefully someone else will have a better solution.Oh... look here
