Auto Zone will lend you a "DOUBLE" flaring tool meant for brake lines and a bender for free, just have to give them a CC as collateral. Then just buy some straight runs of tubing plus new fittings and go at it. It's not that hard to do. You can also just buy random lengths all made up and adjust the length by making some creative bends and circles with your borrowed bender. OR somewhere long ago on BB someone came up with a place that is not one of the usual suspects, that has complete sets of lines already made up for all sorts of vehicles. I saved that info somewhere. I'll look for it and get back to you.

At the "cheapest but the best 122 brake line" store?? ;-)

    Ha.. just kiddin ya, man!

For the price of the proper tools AND time spent in learning the correct technique, the usual suspects are a pretty good deal as mentioned... unless you have an urge to learn the mysteries of proper flaring technique and accurate tube bending, which is not inconsequential in the least. I hve the hair loss to prove it!!!

For most of the hard brake lines I've just gone to the parts store and purchased straight, pre-flared lines with the proper fittings on the end. Bending them with a cheap tubing bender usually gets pretty good results.

If you EXACT replicas of the OEM hardlines, you can send the existing ones you have to www.inlinetube.com. They will use a CMM (computer measuring system) to digitize the lines, then use a CNC bender to bend the lines, and ship them back to you with the proper flares and fittings in place. I have NO idea what price range you'd be looking at for their services, but I can't imagine it's very economical.

I'd think you can buy either the cheapest OR the best, but that finding something that's both will be tough.

Both the oem lines as well as those sold by ipd are pretty affordable. What budget are you hoping to accommodate?

I think you'll be getting familiar with a tubing bender, coat hanger, and flaring tools. I don't know who supplies pre-formed 122 brake lines.

I stand corrected. I didn't know anyone would have those pre-formed for that car. BTW, in case anyone was wondering about the coat hanger, I use it to predetermine the routes and bends I want in a brake line, as bending the real thing repeatedly will work harden it to the point of uselessness.

VP list the individual hard brake lines

      http://www.websitefolder.net/VPAUTOPARTS/Foot_brake_control_linkage_single_circuit_B18.asp

Or automec make complete kits bas well as flaring tools

      http://www.automec.co.uk/

Using MG stuff or the like is not a good idea, the Volvo male brake union whilst an imperial thread is different from British made vehicles in that it is threaded all the way up.
