Rubber flexi-joint M47- was it installed wrong? 700

This badly damaged rubber flexi-joint is only 2-3 years old (average milage). I just noticed on removal these arrows. Looks like ive installed it back to front. Its hard to see from the picture, but the three bolts removed are flexi-joint to gearbox and the corresponding arrows point in the opposite direction.

Rubber flexi-joint M47- was it installed wrong? 700

Thanks guys, so i did install it wrong??..im thinking it was the old centre bearing rubber that most probably caused early damage to the flex disk..guess will see in another 3 years.

Rubber flexi-joint M47- was it installed wrong? 700

I don't know if it matters but I put mine on so the Engine Pushed the Thicker Rubber portion toward the Driveshaft Rather then Pull the shaft by the thinner section of the coupler.
I think if you follow the arrows for the direction of the bolts as it was originally in the car, it works out so it push es the Thick section rather then pull the thin section.

I didn't think it made any difference which side went where. The arrows may just indicate bolt direction?

hello
going by memory, of the six bolts that hold the flex disc together three are slightly longer then the other three and you probably have two of them in the wrong location length wise.
i did the same thing, but before i test drove i caught it by just looking very carefully to see if everything was looking the same on both sides of the flex disc.
kinda hard to blame the people here for this kind of mishap.
hopefully it didnt do much damage.
every single item in the drivetrain must be marked before dis assembly.
i have had problems simular with the drivetrain, its one way to learn.
good luck
Mike
