Quit - no crank 900 1993

93 940 just quit and now won't crank. Only get a click. I've read several threads on this, but fail to see a conclusive fix for these symptoms. Does anyone know the consensus opinion for these symptoms?

Sorry for vague description. This 940 just quit while running in traffic and then would not turn over when restarts were attempted. Just a click, but I haven/t isolated that to solenoid or other (fuse block) relay.

Your description is a bit vague so there could not be any consensus.
Did it quit while it was being driven? or just fail to start?
Did the battery get run down trying to restart until there was just a click?
Have you tried jumper cables.

Check battery (charge if necessary), clean battery cable contacts and ground connections. Use a remote starter on #50 terminal blade of starter and battery + with igniton on. If car starts, problem is with ignition switch or wires or neutral safety switch (automatic). If not, it's the starter solenoid or starter. A bad battery dies quickly when cranking.
