It was published here a while ago...I intend to get an incontinent HCV from somewhere (I'll send the first person I hear from and who sends me one, a SwEm Brakelight Upgrade Kit), to do a failure and design study and rebuild kit evaluation and review.

I've used that kit, and it works for fixing a leaky valve. It does nothing for a valve that won't turn off.

I was able to repair the temp control using the components from a 240 HCV.
If you look at the two units side by side you will notice that the mechanisms are nearly identical, only upside down. I disassembled the two HCVs by straightening the tabs and reassembled the 120 valve with the 240 sensor. The heater control cable has to be modified (cut off the loop & put on a cable stop).
Junk yards are overflowing with 200 series Volvos and the valve is only a few bucks.

If you still have the HVC, I would like second dibs :)

While my valve still has a good copper tube, the valve is frozen open and I need to replace it this spring. It would be fun opening both of them to see if I can make at least one work again.
