Well, I'm not in No Texas, but I am in what we call No County, San Diego. Looks like we will get grandpa's car and sadly must part with the 1988 245A GL, white/carmel [aka tan] interior. 200k miles. You should be able to contact me using my profile.

I'd guess A stands for Automatic, in this case.

Yes A is for automatic, I saw the autos referred to that way quite a few years back in Volvo literature. Without the A it is assumed to be a manual, M46 or M47. I have one Volvo at the moment, had it for about 13 yrs. The other Volvos listed are ones I owned in the past. At the moment since inheriting one vehicle I have 5 vehicles including the 88 245A which is one too many.
