Front sway bar bushing installation 200

Regarding installation of front sway bars in general: I'm just doing the two main bushings that are in the brackets that hold the bar to the subframe. I'm using Volvo stock rubber bushings. Just making sure that the bushings go on completely dry with no lubricant of any kind where the bar goes through the bushing. I know I'm not supposed to use oil on the rubber, but am wondering if a little dry lubricant of some kind should go on the bar where the bushings wrap around it.

Front sway bar bushing installation 200

Everything I have heard, and I followed this when I did mine, is to clean any rust on the sway bar where the bushings go. I used 0000 steel wool, but the entire installation is dry, no lubricant. If you haven't already purchased the bushings I highly recommend poly over rubber for the sway bar. I changed my not too old Volvo rubber for poly just to try poly on a component that was easy to access [i.e. sway bar] and was amazed at the difference. Also changed the end links to poly using the IPD poly kit for sway bars. I had done my entire front suspension in OE Volvo rubber but after trying poly on the sway bar I did all my rear suspension using poly. Firm but not harsh and hopefully the longevity is greater.
