Odd Problem Still Continues 700 1989

1989 780

I am having a issue where when under medium boost i get a slipping type motion out of the car. i originally thought maybe it was a fuel delivery issue or turbo but no luck there. Basicly ( downhill any slope 1 degree or 12 degree ) under hard boost you can feel this slip like there isnt enough fuel, car kinda bucks lightly, now uphill same thing but happens at medium boost or higher car just doesnt want to keep going it will if you push the pedal harder and the turbo is assisting more at this point. here is what has been done to the car since i have owned it i do not know its history. IRS Rear End Converted To Shocks via IPD conversion kit. No Smoke From Rear. Tach Holds Steady During Issue. Express Yourself Here Im Getting Ticked I Cant Get This Car Perfect!!!

Had a very similiar issue after putting everthing back together from a new head gasket job on a 91 940T. Took it for a test spin and it was choking.
I really thought I did something wrong and I was about to walk away.
It turned out it was a loose turbo hose pipe to the throttle body. The one in a thousand things I forgot!

Going to look into it, but if i recall i triple checked all hoses during, aft and after again of the engine install. never hurts to check them either way.

Does the grade of gas make any difference? Don't see anything about sparkplugs. Were they replaced or regapped? Are you using Bougicord ignition wires? Oftentimes weak spark conditions will only cause noticeable problems during turbo boost.

You said that the turbocharger was rebuilt, but how about the hoses running from the turbo to the intercooler, and from the intercooler to the intake? Have you checked your air box hose for tears? What does the turbo gauge do when this happens?

hoses are original only proble i had was from airbox to turbo had tear where it mounts turbo due to the clamp, i cut it off and remounted. int to turbo is soft but not soft enough to collapse during boost.

Turbo guage hold's steady over during boost, does not change at all unless of course you let your foot off the pedal. same thing with the Tach
