I've been thinking of putting some of those strut braces on my '90 245, but I'm worried about the dash vibrating too much.
How will the ride change if I put them on?
I'm pretty much a "grandma" type of driver.

Don't let anybody fool you, they do increase vibes to the dash, but you will have to actually install them and see for yourself if you can tolerate it. I added them and liked them enough to leave them in place even with the increase in dash buzz mainly under acceleration conditions.

I haven't noticed any increased noise.

I also didn't notice any benefit from these braces when the rest of the suspension was stock.

The Braces are a great thing. i put mine one in stages and could tell a difference with each brace. Mine are from IPD but they are easy to make. Greg

I will say do not worry , I have put all type of braces (tower to fire wall, lower braces and tower to tower too) made out of 3/4" EMT. I do not notice any extra vibrations. The benefit is a little tighter ride in turns etc.
I also keep tire pressure 4-5 PSI more than max PSI allowed (which transmits road irregularities better) .

they brought out or amplified every rattle on my old 85 240 turbo.
quick fix is turn up radio.

No noises or problems with upper braces on my 87 which has over 300K on it now. I noticed a difference in transient response. Tighter feel. I have IPD swaybars and poly bushings.
