1991 944 Turbo cutting out 900 1991

I own the above mentioned car, and while it drives out okay, it cuts out under full throtal on the interstate. The kick down cable is broke, I have it scheudauled to have the transmission serived, but I'm not sure that this would be casuing my problem. It will get up to speed, how ever if their is enough demand it will cut out. I have replaced the fuel filter. Their does not seem to be any holes in the turbo hoses. I was wondering if their was an over boost switch like the 240 turbos had, but that does not seem to be the case. I'm out of ideas at this point. Hopefullly I'm just missing the obvious:)

A brief history. I bought the car this summer with a blowen head gasket. I put a good used head on it and put it back togeather. The car does go into boost, but not as much as my 1992 740 turbo wagaon, which has been pampered it's whole life.

Thanks for the help!

There should be a overboost cutout switch located by the brake pedal. Either that or the CBV diaphram is bad.

Another possibility is a lean condition and the fail safes in the system are cutting in. This may be from faulty FPR, in-tank pump, fuel filter, etc.
