940 turbo stalls on very hot days 900 1990

My 940 stalls on very hot days after driving for a few hours & wont start for around 20 mins. I have replaced the crank sensor but this hasn't helped. I have noticed the A/C button flashes when it does this. I tested codes & got a 224 & a 223 code reading
I only have 2 plugs being A-6 & A-2 with sockets?? Though it does have 1 2 3 on 1 side then 5 6 7 on the other but no socket plugs except for 2 & 6..Its an A box type.
My code came from the no.2 socket. I am using a ‘chip’ that makes the E.C.U think it is running cold (maybe not so good an idea) but it seems to make no difference whether its connected or not.
I did another code test & now have 1-1-1 codes in both plugs (no fault). It is a 1990 model with 324249km’s on the clock.
With regards
Wanjina

the two items that come to mind which can duplicate your troubles are

1. the crank sensor
2. the ignition control module ..normally located on the drivers front fender wall

Hi,

I recently had a hot start problem on my 93 940T wagon, where the car would start cold just fine. It would also start if I didn't let it sit for more than 10 minutes after turning off the engine. If I let it sit for more than 10 minutes, it would take multiple cranks(4-5) to get it started.

The problem was the fuel pressure regulator. You don't have quite the same symptoms, but I thought it might be useful.

Tedd

Ted thanks for the inplug.
i will also look at that though it seems fine on cooler days as it will run all day, its just seems to do this on hot days, but thank you again i will be looking into your suggestion.
