AMM/MAF Question 200 1986

Hey guys,
So long story short...I'm still here with my brick chugging along. However yesterday I decided to take a ride up to Bellingham, M.A. and visit Henry's Auto Salvage...MAN What a WASTE of TIME! They wanted to charge me $27.58 for a stupid headlight lens cover! JUST THE COVER! PLUS, all of the 240s out there were picked clean like a drumstick.

ANYWAYS...I'm not here to rant about the wasted 45 minute drive. My '86 needs a new ignition amplifier quite badly and I scored an AMM/MAF from a 1984 240. However I noticed that they are not identical as the MAF from the 86 has a slot for me to increase/decrease the ignition amplifier and the one from the '84 doesn't. I've tried swapping MAFs from an '83 to this one where the MAF just caught on fire. (Yeah, nice...I know..) and it's raining and dreadful out...SOo0o0o my question is : Are these parts interchangeable before I go outside and waste my time getting soaked for nothing?

    AMM/MAF Question 200 1986

Don't put it in unless the numbers match up. They are typically referred to by the last three numbers I think the 83 is a "002" , I'm not sure about the 86, but my 88 required an "007"
