I have an 1986 760 Turbo. I need both front spindles. I found an '89 740 GLE. It has both the front spindles. Can I swap the spindles with no problems? The JY car has no calipers, just the spindles and rotors and caliper brackets. My car has 10" rotors and dual piston/dual line calipers and 15" alloy wheels. Also what would I need to get or do to make this work? Thank you in advance.

    The spindles changed with the 1988 model year and the early and late ones don't interchange. You can change the struts as conplete units. Obviously you'll need to have an alignment done afterward,

      Okay, if I replace all the parts involved, i.e. both strut housings/spindles, hub/rotor, caliper brackets, can this work? Can I use my existing calipers? I cannot find the spindles for my car. I just need to know if the parts will fit and what needs to be done to make this work. Thank you.

        You can use your existing calipers with caliper holding brackets. You can't find spindles for your car because they are part of the MacPherson strut. Why do you need spindles?

          I know that they are one piece, the struts and spindles. The left spindle is damaged to the point that you have to hammer on and off the outer bearing. The right one is bent at the base of the strut as to affect the alignment. I can't seem to find any '85 to '88 740/760/780 JY cars in my area. I need other parts for my car also, like both front turn signals, left front parking light, right rear turn signal. The spindles are the most important to me now, as that is what the the car needs to be safe and reliable. I can live with using colored bulbs for now or until the police tell me otherwise. Thank you for your help.
