When changing the fluid in a 940 locking limited slip diff. is it neccessary to remove the inspection plate and install a new gasket or can you just drain and refill? Also any preference in using red line vs mobil 1. I like the looks of the Mobil 1 becasue it looks like you can just squeeze the bottle into the filler hole and the red line you would need to use a differential fluid syringe.

drain and refill. bottom bolt is the drain. i use mobile one syn.

Thanks I knew I was making it to complicated. your saying just loosen the the the bottom bolt that helps hold the cover on or completely remove it?

remove the bolt to drain. i use a little silecone on the threads, or teflon when re-installing bolt. i dont know if its recomended.
