Can I swap 1991 inner door panels into a 1986 740? 700 1986

Bricksters:
I need the inner door panels for the front (and back if the swap will work) for my 1986 740 SW...I have located a 1991 740 sedan with great panels at the Pick N Pull ($17 each).
will the 91 swap for the 86 panels? Or do I have to take the entire door( which will require a paint job as mine is dark blue and the PNP sedan is red).
Or Maybe I should just go for the Urban Warefare look and leave the red doors on the blue station wagon??
Thanks for any suggestions.
el Raidman.

Yes, they work fine, but you'll have to drill two holes for the red pins which the speaker cover slides onto and retains the door panel. I've done exactly that. It is a little tricky getting the right size holes exactly where you want them.

OK, I'm off to the PNP...looks like my car will be a staid wagon, not the urban warrior with different colored doors.
Thanks for the info.

They will swap with a minor modification. The plastic pins that hold the speaker covers are different. Get those too from the donor car, or get new ones-the old are brittle and often break.
