All,
Does anybody know how to replace the bulb(s) in the late 740 manual climate control unit? I found one post but it was for an 87 740 and the guy mentioned a twist off socket in the back - I definitely don't have that. It's like a black box - I can not figure out where a bulb would go. Surely they are replacable...?? tired of feeling around for the fan switch at night...

They are different since 1991. The 1991+ have two tiny bulbs on top front of the unit under the tape (looks and feels like electrical tape). Just peel it back and the bulbs are under there.

Yeah - I got a spare too (also with a blown AC relay that I wasn't able to repair) and it shows no sign of any place for a bulb..
