Moog strut mounts 200 1990

I would like to replace my strut mounts (when I replace my struts) and understand the OEM struts mounts are no longer available for a 1990 244. Does anyone have experience with the Moog strut mount? I am looking for a strut mount that is high quality, long term durable. Are they better than SKF? Thanks, Ron

Moog strut mounts and other things 200 1990

I tried to get MOOG strut mounts from several places but no one could actually get them...showed on their web catalog, but turned out to be out of stock, and they couldn't get them. That was back in October. I ended up buying them from VOLVO, and at the same price the MOOGs listed for....$109 apiece.

Also had one place do the MOOG/TRW switcheroo on me...one MOOG tie rod end with grease zerk, castle nut, etc. and one sealed TRW. Sent the TRW back.

And while we're on the subject, FCP lists a new Saginaw OEM power steering pump for $218. Came yesterday and it was a new ScamTech. Sent it back.

Moog in my opinion will be fine if you don't want to install the genuine Volvo parts. I think I would prefer them over the SKF.

If the mounts definitely need a changin', I'd go Genuine Volvo.

Moog BALL JOINTS 200 1990

I ordered a set of MOOG ball joints from a company I will not name.
When they arrived one was MOOG and the other was TRW. There was
a definate differance in quailty, both were in Moog boxes, but the
TRW was not as strong and reliant looking as the Moog. Both come
from Moog, but one is a TRW. I called the people I ordered from and
they called their distributor and I was told that they are both Moog products.
They could not get me a Mood ball joint to replace the TRW.
So I sent them both back and bought Febi/Bilstein brand for a lower price ($22.00)
The Febi/Bilstein look great, strong, sealed and ready to go on the 91 240.
I actually bought two sets since I saved on shipping if I ordered more than X dollar amount, so I actually got one almost free. The second set needs to go on
my 83 240.
